David E. Gutierrez, MD
Dr. David E. Gutierrez is a double board eligible and fellowship trained physician specializing in Interventional Pain Medicine. He completed his residency training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). There Dr. Gutierrez was elected Chief Resident, was awarded the Leo Davidoff Society Teaching Award, and was named Post-Graduate Resident of the Year. He then completed his ACGME accredited Pain Medicine fellowship with the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Nebraska and joins us after his extensive training in implantable therapies and interventions. His procedural training is unparalleled in Pain Medicine – using the most current technologies and minimally invasive practices.
Dr. Gutierrez specializes in the delivery of comprehensive pain management including: Physiatrist directed exercise programs, fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided procedures, spinal cord stimulator implantation/neuromodulation and the utilization of orthobiologics in Regenerative Medicine. He is an active member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) as well as the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), where he previously served as the National Resident Physician Council Board Secretary.
Along with presenting at multiple conferences internationally, Dr. Gutierrez has been published in the American Academy of Pain Medicine Journal. He has also co-authored a number of textbook chapters, most recently in Springer’s Musculoskeletal Pain Conditions: A Comprehensive Guide. Outside of medicine, Dr. Gutierrez enjoys sports, travel, music, art history, and spending time with his friends, family, and dachshund.
